Denman Place Mall is a centrally located one-stop destination that meets a wide range of everyday needs for both Vancouver residents and visitors.

In 1966, the mall was conceived by visionary developer J.A. “Sandy” Reid, working with partners J.A. Forsythe, William Pinkerton, and William Wilding Architects. They envisioned a “vertical neighbourhood” that combines sophisticated urban living with on-the-doorstep retail and leisure. The original 48-storey concept, budgeted at roughly $10 million, was refined to 35 storeys and opened as the Denman Place Inn.

On June 27th 1969, Denman Place Mall opened with twenty-two stores; later that summer, Super Valu joined as an anchor tenant.

In 1983, C.T. Management acquired the complex, retaining the Denman Place Inn name. Three years later, Ramada took over management and rebranded the hotel as the Ramada Renaissance.

In 1989, the Okabe Corporation purchased the property, renaming the hotel the Coast Plaza Suite Hotel at Stanley Park. Despite numerous changes over the decades, the mall has remained open thanks to the loyalty of the West End community and its steadfast commitment to service.

The property was sold in the autumn of 2007. Today, the centre hosts more than thirty stores and services, including anchor tenants No Frills, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Dollarama.

The Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites and Denman Fitness closed in late 2017. The tower was then fully renovated and rebranded as The Shoreline, a boutique hotel and residential rental community, with units now available for rent.

Denman Place Mall has proudly served as your West End Neighbourhood Mall for over fifty years and hopes to continue to do so.
